warrior bass with bartolini's

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys, I am a lover of fender jazz bass. Recently i bought a used warrior bass with bartolini pickups and i think bartolini preamp. And i realised the sound does not have the kind of sound like fender that cuts through the band mix. I was thinking of changing the pickups or preamp to achieve that sound.

Can someone please advice me?
Here is a pic of the bass.

Don't know if Fender PUs on this bass will get you what you want or not. I might be interested in the barts/electronics if you decide to switch. PM me.

The pickups are not jazz pickups. I wonder if there is a compatible pickup that can replace the current pickup and have a sound close to the fender jazz (cut thru mid tone)?

Those may be humbuckers and not single coils. If that's the case, just replace them with the single coil version.

Or, tell Dave at SGD what you want. As long as he has cases the same size as yours, he can make it for you.

They look like my BC5 size cover. A set of Sidewinders would get that tone.

And there you go! I have Dave's pickups in my Brubaker. They are phenomenal.

Thanks guys, is there any way to check what it is from the pickup? Any good single coil to recommend?

Are those able to be split to single coil?
