Warwick active and passive!

In term of tone, what you guys think about a passive warwick and a active warwick? My corvette std is a passive and the tone is more towards the vintage style but with more bites to it. It do have the warwick growl but just more vintage style.

Was wondering if the same model but active, will it make the bass become more attack, aggressive type of tone?

I think with Warwick these days you can get MEC Silver(passive), MEC gold(active) or Seymour Duncan(I believe passive pickups with an active pre). Mine came with the MEC Golds, I would not describe the sound as aggressive at all. Plenty of treble if you wanted it but a clean, smooth treble. Tons of low end but not all that well defined. I've found the MEC Silvers to be pretty thin and nasty sounding. Never used anything with the Seymour Duncans. My bass has had the pickups replaced with a set of passive bartolinis.

i change my pup to delano jazz and it sound much more warmer and clearer than the mec stock jazz pup. The bass sound much more vintage sound but with the warwick growl and bites on it.

Saving up for a preamp to pair it up on the bass for more different tone variation.

Not sure shell i buy the MEC, Bart, Seymour Duncan or Retro preamp for my warwick
