Warwick Corvette Pick-ups

Thinking of buying a Warwick Corvette bass..was wondering if someone could explain the difference between the Mec Passive and Mec Active Pickups? Both are available in the model i like. Would appreciate any info on this!! Thanks Matt3QD

The pickups should both be passive, the active part refers to the presence of a preamp.
