Hello all...long time listener first time poster :-)
I have a Warwick FNA 5. I replaced the stock pup about a year ago with a Bart MM. I am still running the stock Duncan preamp. WEll i have noticed lately that i have to crank the crap out of the lows to just get a good low end sound out of the Warwick. I also have a Conklin that has a bart preamp as well as Pups in it and it has almost as much ,low end umph flat as the warwick pegged....any thoughts on this?
Thanks
JEremy
I have a 98 FNA(4 string). I was told by the original owner that the preamp had been upgraded to an 18V Duncan. Not sure about the pickup(brand); it's not labelled. This bass has TONS of low end- I almost never touch the bass knob. I will tap it at very low volumes, but it's more than I need in a typical band/live setting.
can you take the stock preamp and make it 18v? If so any thoughts on how? Yeah i can play and if i crank the lows they used to be there, but they seem almost lost now...
