Warwick pots... easy to replace?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a mid 90's Fortress 5 that has a bad volume pot. It cuts out hard and makes terrible sounds come out of my amp! I had a tech look at it and he figured the wiper in the pot was worn out. He also told me it wasn't too difficult to replace.

Is there any un-soldering that needs to be done? I was under the impression these pots are 'plug and play'

All the Warwicks I've been in have normal soldered connections. Replacing a pot is very easy, even if you've never soldered anything before. Read some turorials online (google!) and practice on some scrap wire before digging into your bass.
