Warwick Thumb Elec. ??

I have a 2006 Thumb BO 5 and Im looking to get some more oomph out of my sound.... it has the Mec's with gold lettering; ive been told that these are active pickups.

Would I be able to run a Bart pre Amp with these pickups? Aguilar? What should I go for and why? Looking to retain the general sound of the thumb but give it some more guts down low. A little balllsier. And I would like it to be 3 band with vari-mids.

And I may be changing pick ups again later after that... most likely to barts as well.

I swapped an Aguilar OBP-2 into my Thumb BO and love it. You should prob get the OBP-3 though since that has mid control.

I have tried a Warwick Steamer Stage 1 with a Bartolini pre amp with the stock Mec pickups. I like the sound of Bartolini pre amps. You could always switch out your pickups for Baselines and keep your preamp.

I suggest that because that's what I plan on doing after the holidays.

Wasnt thinking basslines if I do switch out the pups its going to be for Bart Hum cancelling deep tones.... most likely with the Bart 3 band pre, unless someone else has a better opinion/experience......
