Washburn 6 string J pups in a Fender 5 String?

Sign in to disble this ad
Well...i picked up a squier 5er with 19mm spacing and i hate the electronics. Im sorta low on cash...but have these jazz pups and preamp lying around from a washburn 6er with 17mm spacing i took apart.

Im not familiar with the coiled pole sectioning of a jazz pup...think this would be a decent work around for the time being? assuming they measure up and all.

If the washburn pickups are made with bar magnets and not a single blade magnet, you will likely have some inconsistencies in output.

Give the bass a good set of strings, set it up properly, and install the preamp. I find that a preamp will make a bigger difference than a preamp alone.
