Washburn AB-30 pickup problem.

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a 1996 Washburn AB-30 with a humbucking pickup that appears to be working only partially. Strings E, A and G sound good and strong, but D is very weak. I've seen pickups work or not, but not partially. Does this make sense? Is it fixable, or do I have to replace the pickup. This looks like a pretty standard pickup. Dimensions are 2.75 x 1.5 inches. Any suggestions on replacement?

Thanks!!!

Maybe you have a dead D-string; or the D pole pieces (if there are any) may have slipped down in the pickup. That's all I can guess.
