Washburn AB90I Electronics Upgrade

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone with a Washburn AB90 or AB90I replaced the stock preamp or pickups?

What about replacing the humbucker pickups with Darkstars?

I like the vibe of the AB90 with the stock electronics, but am intrigued with the description and the reviews of the Darkstars.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

FWIW:

I've got a DS and like it fine. If you like the existing pup(s) but would have to route for a DS (you need 1" depth aside from the perimeter dimensions), personally I would stick with the existing. If you get a DS remember G spacing is standard so if you have F spacing you need to get the F spaced DS.

Thanks luknfur

Thanks for the reply.

I guess I will stay with the stock pickups - All things considered, the combination of the thinline hollow body, the 2 humbuckers and the piezo sounds as close to paradise as I need to get. Fitting the DS would require extensive routing.
