| what pickups do i have/1991 soundgear 800

hey, i have a 1991 sr800 with actives p/j, fader, volume, bass and treble. they're really responsive to the controls, and sound great. they are also really hot (i can plug into a power amp and get pretty loud without a preamp) my question is this: what were the stock pickups for this bass, it's probably what i've got; and: should i expect the same 'hot' signal from all actives? if i get newer pickups, i'd really hate to get lesser ones. i've started to wear out the p from resting my thumb there. should i just keep them if they still work? just curious i've never played another bass with such a high output.
