Bought some pickups used (ones in my jazz bass are playing up) that were taken from a 98 US Fender 62 Jazz Bass Reissue , I always thought that this bass used the Fender original pickups
however the pole pieces on the originals are noticably raised above the pickup covers (the originals were what was in my bass before the pickups went bad) whereas the pole pieces on the pickups I have are pretty much level with the covers , pickup wires are the cloth covered type, any ideas ?
btw ive looked on the Fender website but all it says on the specs of the pickups are "2 Vintage Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickups "
