What Pickups will fit on my BetterFly custom Bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi bass_bros
I want to build my new custom bass (i have finished modeling it with 3d-wares & I named it “BetterFly” see the pics below), the style is mixture betwen reverse body, it was adapted form TB & Vertigo guitar, combined with MM neck in reverse. I use two woods, java mahogany for body & neck plus maccasar ebony for fretboard, finishing in glossy orange solid color. For all hardware I’ll use replacement product(vintage heavy duty tuning machine and badass bridge style)...but i still have no idea for pickups & electronic parts, basically I want MM style pickups installed(It’ll be fit on my design)… Im both pick & finger style player, I like a deep, clear & punchy sound with my fingers…but also love the drive & agresive attack sound when I use pick. So u guys have an ideas, what pickups will cover all up ?

Thanx

I don't have an answer for you, but I really like the design of your bass! Very cool looking.

I think Villex pickups will fit the bill here. They sound the way you describe your desired sound

you generally can't get more punchy than delano pickups, and also then, you can get the MM style without the exposed pole pieces which i generally think look really stupid

(also i'd recomend an audere preamp because they're really the most versatile as you can completelyy customize your order)

I'd second the Villex recommendarton. I'd also suggest Hipshot Ultralight tuners as your top strap pin is a long way shy of the 12th fret and big, heavy old style tunes will contribute to neck dive.
That body shape would go great with fanned frets.
