What preamp to upgrade my MTD KZ6 with?

Aguilar OBP3? is that even the right one?

any other suggestions?

Was looking to take it to a professional to have done, but I want to get some ideas on what preamp to put in.

It's been upgraded with barts, but I really think it needs a new pre to give it some more "umph" and character.

The OBP-3 is the 3 band version of the Aguilar pre, so, since it looks like your bass is a 3-band, I would say it's the right one. Been eyeing that pre myself, in conjunction with EMG pickups.

I know it's completely different animal than your MTD but I yanked the Aggie from my Spector (passive EMGs), replaced with a Delano Sonar 3 and couldn't be happier. Really cleared up the muddyness and added definition to the low end.

Wow, I always thought the stock MTD pickup/preamp combo was great.

Might as well put a bartolini preamp in there too.

What'd you do with the original pickups?

Still have the stock pups. I got this from someone on here, who upgraded the pickups.
