What is shielding??

anybody i have no idea. when I got new electronics the guy shielded it with coper was that good i need like a crash course

It creates a "faraday cage" to house the electronics in a SHIELD against unwanted rf noise interference / other electrical noise & hum from being introduced into your signal path. As long as the shelding he installed is full containment and connected to ground, the bass should be noise free and good to go. He did you a favor.

oh so it like prevents intereferience i read that JP musicman was shielded with some graphite or acrlyic stuff

yeah, graphite paint attempts to do the same thing. It can be just as effective, if the mixture is correct and consistent and applied correctly. Mainly used for smaller cavities, or shapes problematic to adhering tape to easily.
