Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders. They are absolutely huge sounding!

By that do you mean "stacked single coils? ... or does that also exclude split singles, by that I mean two actual single coil wrapped pickups (think split P bass) ... in that case each acts as a single coil with the very BIG benefit of being in-dependantly hum-cancelling ... a huge advantage when mixing the two pickups at different levels of output.

... IF your open to that ... Then Nordstrand NJ4SE pickups might be just the ticket!

How about Duncan's SJB-2 Hot for Jazz? I believe they're heavily overwound singles, which should be exactly what you want. If I wanted that approach, I'd probably order overwound Fralins though.

I recommend trying the Nordstrand NJ4's, I've had mine for a few months now and love them. I also tried Aero Type 1, Fralins and plenty of Fender p/ups but the NJ4's sound best to me.

I agree, I have a Geddy Lee with those installed and they
are huge on the bottom. My drummer said 2 weeks
ago when I got it and tried it out 'that rig is overkill'.

I had his snare going and he wasn't even playing it.

I'm extremely impressed with the stock pickups in my USA Fender passive Jazz bass.
