what would you suggest for this?

putting a Jazz bass together with a Modulus neck. i'm looking for this bass to cut through with a huge, mean, growly tone . i know having a graphite neck might make that sound difficult to achieve.

There's so many options, it's a little overwhelming. What would you guys recommend? I don't have a budget, and it would be nice to keep it passive. Here's my list of makers that I've been looking into, it's all over the place, please help me narrow it down!

EMG (loved the way these sounded on a Spector I just parted with)
Lollar
Nordstrand
Dimarzio (Model J)
Delano (ones with the big pole pieces)

I'm with Badboy1984. You want huge mean and growly, get those delanos with the big fat single pole pieces, or a set of the Dimarzio Ultra Jazz p'ups.

Huge equals Villex, in my vocabulary. Another plus point is that Modulus offers Villex pickups as an upgrade. I am sure it's a great match for the graphite neck

all graphite

i'm hoping to "dirty up" the sound as much as possible, since graphite is notorious for clarity. those delanos were my first inclination. should i do series or parallel? any other suggestions?
