Given the choice of Nordstrand or Lindy Fralin what P pickup would you use in a custom bass?

I remember someone doing a shootout of a bunch of different J pickups in the same bass, and it seems to me he did both Nords and Fralins, and they both sounded about identical to my ears, as did the 62 CS Fender pickup. So I would say whatever you can get the best price on.

I have a $20 wilkinson pickup that I like a lot...seriously, for the price it's very good (nothing fancy about the construction, but the sound is sweet...very vintage)

I vote Wilkinson

If you want a round muted top sort of sound, LF.

If you want something a little more rockin' while maintaining the vintage sound, NS.

YMMV.
