What's the honkiest bridge J and deepest Neck J out there?

Basically, the question reflects what I'm asking of my fretless. It's a Carvin B5 (with old ceramic J99's) and I've kicked the 660hz on my amp all the way up for a very funky / nasal / bridge honk.

That EQ kills my other tones though. The neck sounds like muddy garbage and blended sounds aggressive modern rock. (I dig the blended tone, but that's what my J-MM Schecter sounds like and is used for!)

Maybe I should invest in an aftermarket pre with a 600-ish hz mid boost? Most likely, I'll scrap the one in the Carvin as I don't like it very much. I'd prefer a stack bass/treble and mid with passive tone a la sb4000's, but that's another story.

Should I target the pickups? I don't like either one solo'd at all. The blend is good tone and the bridge is my style with a massive mid boost. Argh! I love the bass though!
