So I'm the proud owner of a new Wrong Side of Uranus from Montreal Assembly, as well as too many other pedals of various voltages and negative center tips and various milliamperes and whatnot.. and well.. I'm starting to worry what might happen if some of the wires get crossed.
Most of the stuff is standard 9v DC, and one I've got is specifically 18VAC which the guy who built a custom power source for it said "DON'T plug a DC pedal into this!" And he motioned like an explosion could take place.
Some of the plugs can fit into pedals they shouldn't, and I've got so many various mA and V/ AC or DC settings on them I'm worried.
So, what issues might happen if say a pedal goes into something meant for a smaller pedal? Is a digital pedal capable of getting fried? Are analog pedals at risk?
That Montreal Uranus pedal is working great and has one glitchy setting (I know that glitchiness is what it's about, but this one's off, I've contacted Scott, but this varied voltage thing has been bugging me for a while.. mostly since I gave into temptation and filled up my pedal board and then some...)
and I'm worried I might have spazzed the chip out, maybe by plugging the improper plug into it.
Possible? Not possible? Paranoid?
Thanks! |
