Try two 9 V batteries in series.

its official! EMG-P active pickups are pretty kick ass! way more low end then my squire p-bass pickups which is exactly what i was looking for. i ended up not hooking both batteries up since i barely had room for one in my bass, but i am very satisfied with the outcome. with new custom gauge string and the new pick ups ($130.00) i have a grind death machine ready to rumble the grundle chunder out of your bowels and all over the floor!

I run all my EMG pickups at 18v. I love them that way.
You can grab a wiring diagram off the emg web site! http://www.emgpickups.com
