Ring lug on the socket, or your star ground (if you've got one).

Hmm, you may have to help me help you.

Connect it to the lug on the socket (where you plug in) thats also connected to the back of the pots.

The ground should be connected to the sleeve (s) of the output jack. The ring is there likely for an active design to be used to disconnect the battery. No need to make the ground circuit with the patch cord in this case.

It looks like the dangling wire is two wires that are connected to each other. Probably a coil tap to allow single or double coil operation if you wanted. If so, it's wired double coil in the diagram.

You don't hook it to anything; put some electrical tape (or duct tape) on the exposed about it and forget about it...

is that correct?

yeah, if you're confused where to solder it, just plug in to an amp and touch the ground wire to different parts of the input jack until there's no buzzing, and solder it there. (If that's completely unsafe someone let me know).

Your picture in post #5 shows the input jack with one black and one white wire soldered to it - if you solder your bridge ground wire to the same place as the black wire is on the input jack it should be fine.

I don't want to come across as an ass, but if I didn't know where to connect the bridge ground I'd be taking the bass to a technician to do it for me.

well everything but that has been installed, it didnt seem like it was too far outta my league, couple quick soldering jobs and follow the directions, they just didnt say where to attach the ground.

Any output will have the tip carrying the signal, the sleeve is always ground and with the active electronics they use a stereo output which also has a ring part to connect the battery into the circuit by connecting the ring and sleeve part of it and completing the circuit.

Why they have a stereo output in the diagram you posted is beyond me, that diagram shows a passive setup that only requires a mono output jack with only a tip/sleeve setup.
