Where oh where ???

I just spent the last hour searching the net for dual concentric pots, 250K/500K or 500K/500k linear taper. I can only find audio taper pots with these values. Does anyone know where these seemingly rare pots can be found ?

I placed a bid on that 500K/500K. Now I want a 250K/500K linear taper stacked concentric so I can A/B them as volume controls in my basses with the P-J setup.

bump...is there a place that will custom engineer pots ? it seems like finding 250k/500k stacked linear taper pots is an impossiblility

Yes, you can custom order pots, however, you usually have to buy at least a thousand to do so.

well that sucks....and is not about to happen... I've been to Mouser, Digikey and Global Spec with no luck...But there must be a linear taper dual 250K/500K concentric out there somewhere.

Are you trying to just switch between 250K and 500K values for one volume control, or will you be using the pot for two separate volumes?

If you are just A/Bing between 250K and 500K, you can do that with a 500K/500K pot by running both gangs of the pot in parallel.

I'm going to replace the separate volume controls in my P-J with a concentric for both volumes. I wanted to get the 250K/500K so I could control the P with the 500K and control the J with the 250K. I want both a 250K/500K and a 500K/500K because I could A/B them against each other as volume controls. I'm thinking the 500K side on the P would brighten it up some and the 250K on the J would be in line with what's recommended for single coil non-humbucking pup's. Then again from another thread I started you recommend using a 500K for the J as well stating it would also allow more output and brightness from it as well. I just never thought that finding linear taper pots would be so hard especially on the webz.
