I am just curious who has changed their stock lakland jazz pickups to what type and for what reasons? Information on music played rig type etc would be great as well.

No one has? Wow. The reason I ask is I am considering doing this and was curious what others have done with what kind of luck. I am looking for a little more low end response, possibly the Antiquity II, but not really sure.

I swapped the Barts for Basslines. I love the Barts, but always felt the neck PUP lacked a little focus which the Basslines provide. Of course Lakland now sells another PUP (Hansons?) but I've never tried them.

Have you thought about ChiSonics?

I did think about the Chi sonics but routing and install gets a bit pricey. I decided to try a set of Delano jmvc fe (the ones with the big pole pieces) should be here in a day or two. I think they will give me a tone somewhat like a traditional meets modern. Passive response with more depth. This bass has the Hansons in it and they do sound good, just not my tone I don't think, maybe a bit to ragged in the mid range and not full enough in the low end.

Gotcha...all kinds of flavors for standard J routing for sure...good luck! Hopefully these work for you! If you ever what to take the plunge for the ChiSonics, I'm sure you will love 'em...lots of thick lowend, great growling mid texture, and clear open highs. Lots of output too.

Yeah, I have to say I was/am very interested in the ChiSonics. They sound great on sound bites at the Lakland site.
