I want to know if I put these in a jazz bass if it will sound similar to a warwick. I think that is actually the bulk of the warwick sound in those pickups...
edit:
Can you buy MEC pickups anywhere??? I've been looking around, and it doesn't look like you can get them unless you buy a Warwick...

The truth is, these pickups are probably not easily available quite on purpose. I suspect they're not much easier to get than say a Warwick neck (near impossible, unless strictly for replacement, as I understand).
I love the MECs, I had a 'Wick that someone had put EMGs in, and it ruined the bass for me. I restored it to MECs with the help of Bass Central, and Dana B Goods (awesome guys in both shops!). The bass is now back to its original glory, and I couldn't be happier with it.
I'd be interested to hear someone's experiences putting MECs in something other than a 'Wick.
