I'm thinking about upgrading, to a higher out put pickup like quarter pounders, Tonerider TRP1 or Mightly Mite.

what pickups did you upgrade to in your CV P?

thanks guys!

I threw some QP's in mine, still on the fence about them. My main reason for the upgrade was a lack of balance between strings and a lack of attack. The QP's haven't really made a dramatic improvement in either area.

I'm no fan of the Q-pounds. They seemed muddy on the low side and brittle on the highs to me. My favorite P pickup hands down is the Fender Original 62

Just FYI, even though it's not official, I talked to a Tonerider dealer and he told me that the Squier CV series is equipped with Tonerider pickups. It sure sounded like it when I test-drove 2 of the P-basses. I also have a Tonerider TPR1 in my fretless SX - it is all precision tones. IMHO doesn't need replaced (even though I love upgrades). Squier CV P-bass is the best budget instrument (that doesn't need upgrades) I've tried in a while, if not ever.

if you end up replacing pickups on your Squier CV, I might be interested in the stocks (I'd like to see pictures of the back of the first )
