So i'm looking at building a custom P/J bass and i was trying to decide whether to go with a standard or 70's j bass bridge pickup placement and thought both could be useful, then again, being able to switch it into an MM dual coil would also be useful.
I'm sure i've read about them before but i haven't been able to recall any info on the pickup, but what i'm looking for is a dual coil (MM) which can be split into two independent singles so i can jam it in there behind the p bass pickup for some real tonal variety. Let me know if i imagined this, or if you know of a manufacturer.
