Its a VERY simple fix, you need to replace the wire.

Now, there is lots of info online about how to solder, and it is very easy to do, so I would say grab yourself a soldering iron, some solder, a small length of wire and some wire cutters. Here is a link to 'how to solder'.

I would really urge you to do this yourself as it is cheaper than taking it to a shop, and over time it will do you good. I have rewired complete basses more times than I can count, and even rewired guitars a few hours before going on stage when my friends axe mysteriously stopped working. It is also quite enjoyable, and you can fix more problems in the future.

got a better picture? can't see the terminals. but the green looks like it's coming from the bridge and is its ground, so that one has to join the other ground wires (back of pots).
The other one i can't see well enough. but ther's only three lugs on the volume pot, so try it until it works..

google "guitarnuts" and you'll come to a website where they explain everything about basic wiring, some easy modifications, etc. Very useful. Your bass has very simple wiring, you'll find your answer there easily.

I'd personally remove the wiring and re-do it from scratch, shielding the cavity while I'm at it. I do that with all my guitars and basses, and can reduce noise/hum from most, sometimes a lot.
