Thought I'd start a thread about this microphone system, as theres not much up here about them.
I've been using the combined condensor mic/contact mic system for a couple of weeks now, and am very impressed so far. I think I can still get a better sound as I learn all the possible combinations that the 2 mics, my new D-Tart solstice and the positioing of the condensor give...
but my initial impressions are very positive, as close to the 'my bass but louder' as it seems reasonable to expect through a gallien krueger... I also tried it though a pa, and that was fantastic.

I should also mention that the service I've recieved from them was excellent. They are happy to send you different stuff to try out, and put together exactly your specifications of wire lengths etc... as well as being very helpful and quick to reply to queries.

Here's the website:accusound.com

From the pricelist it looks like a complete system (contact mike + condenser) would be in the order of 400 pounds ( US$ 790!).

Oliebrice: How would you compare it to other mic/ pickup systems?

I've not tried many pick-ups, the only other one I've owned is the K&K bass max, and i like it much, much more than that. The contact mic alone is much closer to the sound of my bass than the K&K is, and the condensor adds a huge amount of 'warmth' and 'acousticness' (I always find language inadequate to describe sound).
I also had a chance to try the HD systems mic, and I think its far better than that as well.
Haven't had the opportunity to compare it to AMT etc...
