Aguilar GS 4x10 and Markbass LM II

I always see videos of john patitucci and james genus using 4x10 cabs with the upright. I've never really tried this.

My electric bass rig was sized down. I sold my svt 2 pro (because it's too heavy and I don't need that much amp, even for my loud rock band). And I started using the mark bass for everything.

I have found the little mark II sufficient for just about everything I do for electric bass, with different cabs.

We'll for the first time today I am playing a gig where a group is borrowing my GS410 for a rock thing, and I figured that I could try it with double bass (since my group is also playing).

With the markbass head, the GS410, and the full circle, I'm getting a great sound. With the bow and pizz. Really truly beatiful. As good as anything I've ever heard. The bergantino HT110s don't sound anything like this with the Markbass and the same bass. They are muddy and kind of indistinct with a nasty kind of mid range that just isn't right. Or maybe the AG speakers are just voiced to take out the funk or something.

Stoked for the gig. I love to be able to hear myself! lol

So, for those of you that might not have thought of it, try it maybe?

Best,
Chris

The MB Littlemark II has a lot of power, maybe more speakers would help it sing better.

A 4 x 10 is a lot more bulk, and harder to move..

John Patitucci probably has roadies.

I know.
I'll never move a 4x10 with my upright. It is convenient if it is there though. I wonder how many others have played using a 4x10.
