I just put one of these on my Hybrid from Upton and am totally amazed at the sound I'm getting. Plugged into my GK MB150 (for convenience) I just kept cranking the volume until the amp started to break up. Nary a sign of feedback. The tone, even through the GK, is warm, punchy and woody; very natural. To compare it to the Revolution Solo II I turned the volume down a bit, turned the amp off and plugged the RSII in. Turning the amp back on gave horrendous feedback

so I turned the volume down until it stopped. Tonewise, there was no comparison. The FC sounds much better on this bass. The RSII is thinner sounding and quite a bit less punchy. It also shows a bit of that piezo clack that has always bugged me. Killing it has been a largely futile effort of EQing it out, but the tone just turns to mud.
Did I mention how loudly the FC goes without feedback? For big band gigs this issue is essential.
Both pickups were tried with the amp flat but running the treble at 9:00.
The FC is mounted threads down and it sounds best with the wire running straight up. I can't wait to gig with it this weekend, along with better amplification to see how it sounds. The best $200 I've probably ever spent on gear.
