balsereit: low output?

hi,

so I have a Balsereit pickup for 2 weeks now and I think it has very little output. I tried all positions, and even with the position that has the greatest output it´s quite quiet.
my Eden Wt550 needs gain at 3 o´clock, and the MusicMan Audiophile top I played at a gig needed the gain crancked!

is this normal? if yes, can someone comment if the full circle has more output? the luthier that sold me the balsereit has a used full circle and perhaps I can convince him to sell me this instead...

I really don´t want to add a preamp, because after years of C411 contact mic + preamp I want to have a plug & play solution for jobs, rehearsals and the like where I don´t care too much about the sound quality (I use a neumann km184 between the bridge legs whenever there is a PA).
