Best low end from aguilar, epifani or EA 112 cab?

Hi There
I'm still looking for a small cab that can handle double bass without cracking up. I currently have an EBS neo 110 which is not bad for it's size but does begin to fart a bit on the low notes.
I haven't had the chance to try aguilar, epifani, markbass or EA 112 cabs so would be very interested to hear how they compare in low end.
Also interested in how the 210 cabs compare to the 112s.
Any advice gratefully received.
cheers Quee

I've had the Aguilar 12 for some years now. It's a great speaker. I don't think I've ever heard it "fart" under pressure. It's low end is very nice and clean. When I bought it I compared it side by side w/ an EA 12. The Ag seemed warmer, cleaner, lighter AND cost less so I bought it. Very sturdy construction too. I prefer it much better than 2x10's I've tried or owned. 10's always seem to have artificial lows and brittel mids and highs to my ears. That being said, they're probably getting better these days than they were in the past. When I want something louder than my combos when playing DB, I'll take the Aguilar and a head. If I'm playing BG I'll take my EV Proline 15. It's a little warmer and balances the punchiness of the Musicman Sterling. In bigger, louder room, I'll put the Aguilar on top of the EV for a 4 ohm wall of sound.
Although I don't care for Eden 2 or 4 10's that I've tried, I recently used their 15 w/ a tweeter, one of their David Series cabs, w/ my Eminence EUB on an out of town gig. I was impressed by it's warm, but defined lows (even on an outdoor gig!) and the cab's light weight.
Hope this helps, BG

quee, I think you'll be able to get lots of info on this from existing posts if you search around a bit.

For example, you might try running a search on "shootout".

I did, and here's an example of one of the threads it came back with from over on the BG side:

HT112 v. T112 v. GS112 v. Wizzy

Of all the cabs you listed, I have the impression from what I've read that they can all work with DB. The only exception might be the Aguilar. I think some people feel they are too scooped in the mids for DB. But other folks dig 'em just fine, like bribass said.

I have an EA Wizzy and it suits me fine for DB and slab.

2x10 vs 1x12? Probably 1x12 for DB IMO. But lots of cats use 2x10's and sound great ...

Again, there's lots of collective experience in all these posts if you get the search function fired up.

Here s'more:

Epifani vs. EA

Best 12 for DB?

MarkBass

Epifani UL-110? Comments?

Thanks for the info guys.
The old threads were really interesting. A lot of praise for the markbass cabs there. I've got one of their heads which I am liking a lot.
I'll have to check out a cab when I'm near a shop that stocks them (no dealers in Scotland).
cheers Quee

You might also check out the "Ohio Belchfest" thread, as well. Those guys just had their own little amp/cabinet shootout up there.
