Hi All,
In an effort to become even more mobile, I changed my power amp. Not that i was unhappy with the sound of the Lab.gruppen iP450 that I was using, but I wanted to minimize the stuff that I have to schlepp around when going to gigs. So what did I get? Two Flying Mole digital power amps! these Flying Moles only weigh 650 grams apiece, which makes a big difference. I have one power amp bolted on the back of each Glockenklang Acoustic Art cabinet that I own. They are less powerful than the Lab.gruppen; 100 W at 8 ohm, but more than enough for me. One cab (with one 100W Flying mole on its back) suffices for acoustic gigs. If I play with my EUB, then I use both cabs which each have a Flying Mole bolted on their backs, giving me 200W.
I do feel that these power amps even sound a bit better than the Lab; more quiet when they are supposed to be quiet, and they sound warmer as well. Which is kind of surprising, since they are genuine digital power amps.

I use the DAD 100 Pro BI version with the XLR and speakon connectors.
The fact that the British highend studio monitor company PMC now uses Flying Moles instead of Bryston Power Pack for their powered monitors convinced me of the quality of these amps. And indeed, I am very happy I bought them (got a good price for the Lab.gruppen as well).
Cheers,
Vincent
