The mixer is a mixed blessing. You have to dial up parameters to make tonal adjustments, but as I remember, there is parametric eq available on each channel. There are presets for some common microphones and even one for a realist pickup. The sound is good for piano trio lounge gigs, and if you have a weekly spot, each regular group can save their settings as a scene, and pull it up on the next gig.
The crossover from the bass module to the tower sounded just a bit unconvincing to me though. A bit much on the bottom and then a bit lacking.

Agreed, especially about the last part. If I do that gig again, I'll bring the PJB and A/B them. Still nice to have the option of not bringing the amp, though!

You absolutely need the dual bass module setup, if you're using it with a bass instrument. IME, using a single module limits the overall output, as well as robbing the system of some authority on the low end.

I actually used mine with a Flite 103W for trios, and an Acme Low B2 for rock gigs. Sounded better down low AND at the crossover region, compared to the Bose subs with their little 6" drivers.

On the Model 1, you could do this by inserting an open 1/4" cord into the bass out jack, in order to turn off the proprietary EQ for the Bose bass modules.

My understanding is that you can't do it with the Model II, because it doesn't offer the option to defeat the baked-in bass module EQ. It's absolutely imperative that you do this before using a non-Bose cab as a sub. Otherwise, the EQ will make your cab sound like a tub o' lard...
