Broken GK 700RB-II!

Hey I've been using my GK 700rb-ii happily for about 2 years or so and then saturday in between sets it just took a s$$t on me! It turns on but when the red power light goes off the blue one (which is supposed to turn on) doesn't come on. It's got ac power to the transformer and the fuse is good. The red tuning mute light actually stays on but nothing comes out. This has pretty much totally pissed me off to the point of selling it once it's repaired and/or trading it for something else! Anybody have a similar problem? I did find out it is still in warranty by a month, and the local tech shop is fixing it. Thanks,
Jimbo

You might want to check the jacks to ensure they aren't dirty. Just a thought, my MB150S cut out and didn't have any sound coming out of it back a month or so ago at a gig.

Took it to the shop and they cleaned up the 1/4" input jacks and the send and return jacks.

20 bucks later she is just as good as new......

Well it's just not powering on. The jacks shouldn't be dirty cause this thing is practically new. I've owned it for 23 months and only used it for 13 of those. Thanks for the tip though. Dirty jacks will cause crackling and intermittent performance for sure.

You're right. Not-powering-on is more fundamental. It is probably detecting a fault condition, perhaps even a blown output transistor. Consider yourself lucky that the amp goes into protect mode instead of blowing your speaker!

If the amp is fixed and you get a good explanation of what went wrong, I would see no reason not to keep the amp.
