Did anyone notice that there is a new version of the California Blonde just out?
Main differences that I can see are upped power (160@8 ohms and 200@4 ohms) and that you can run a non-powered extension cabinet. It can be had "retail" for $700, which I think is actually cheaper than the previous version.
It is still 50 lbs, which takes it out of the ultra lightweight category.
I'm not just saying this because I have one of the older Cali Blondes for sale But as a long-time SWR user, I don't really feel comfortable with much of anything they've produced since Fender bought them out. I've tried several amps of the newer variety and I just don't think they stand up to the Rabe-era SWRs.
