Can Shure E3's E4's and E5's Be Repaired

I'm considering purchasing a set of Shure E series In Ear Monitors to use as
monitors for large venues and as "headphones" for my Fodera Practice amp.
If you pull the cord at the earpiece, can it be repaired? Will they handle the transient response of a DB or 5String EB? Thanks in advance for you're help

I have used the E3 with Ipods. It's quite good, though quite coloured and has a controlled bass. Some might say that it is lacking bass, but I personally prefer rythm and pitch. I use it on a daily basis, IMO it's that good.

No experience in repairing nor using it as a monitor. But I can say that it is a quality product that's well built.

Not sure about the shures. But I know ultimate ear UE5s have replacement cords as well as individual ears. Plust in my oppinion the UE5s not only sound better then the Shure E5s but are cheaper by a hundred bucks.

Chris,
I looked up the UE5's and they list for $550.00. Shure E5's are availible at $367.00 where did you buy the UE5's at? I do like the detachable cords and ears. Personally, I think something this expensive should be repairable and Ultimate Ears agrees with me.

Pretty sure the UE5s can be purchased at good old Guitar Center. I just looked them up. Apperantly they have changed around some of their models since I had bought mine. They are now called the SuperFi 5s. They look the same and seem to be the same. Just go to guitar center and ask for the ultimate ears monitors that are 250 bucks. Hope this helps, feel free to email me if you have any other questions comparing the Ultimate Ears to the Shure E3s or E5s. chrisrhoads@mac.com

Thanks Chris!

That's What I needed to know! I just didn't wan't to give Shure $300.00 for a pair of In ears that can't be repaired. If Fostex can make the T 50RP Headphones for $100.00 with a replacable cord, then so can Sure at the prices they are asking for the E series In Ears. Your Help was much appreciated
