Carvin B500

so here goes another thread on componants of my first real rig. I play EB and DB, so the beast needs to be versatile. i havent really set a budget yet, but in all probability it will be 1000 dollars or less. The only thing that i know for certain is that i want a 2x10 cabinet, i know i dont really need anything bigger than that. im looking at the avatar 2x10 neo. for a head i was wondering about the carvin b500. it seems to get good reviews for EB, but i was wondering about wat you guys thought of it for DB. it doesnt have to be the best tone ever, otherwise i would increase my budget. this rig will have to help me finish out my high school career as well as my college career in all probability. i also want to start playing in bands, but i cant really do that with a practice amp now can i so any help will be appreciated, experiences, miny reviews etc.

Unless you are playing rock, the B500 is overkill. Especially once you hit college, a combo is your best bet.

hmmmm... welll wat would you reccomend? i play jazz and would like to get into rock, and do some fun stuff/experiments. i would like to stick with a head cab setup though. i was more worrying about tone than volume though.

Have you posted this inquiry on the EB side? Someone over there may have experience with this amp.

yeah i heard that it was great for eb, and that the eq was real nice, but that doesnt always apply to DB IMO, so i was just lookin for a second opinion so to speak, but then again if its a good sounding amp, theres no reason a DBb wouldnt sound nice through it. i guess ill just have to try one out.
