Cheap Mic Alert

Just got this on my stupid deal of the day list:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupi...&CJPID=2043905

For $29 might be a pretty good deal for those who want to try out using a mic on your bass. Reviews say it sounds similar to a MC012 which I have heard people say sound pretty good on bass.

I am still playing mic only with my bass mic H-Clamp using my trusty old AKG C3000. I got pretty loud with it in a weird biker bar (Stagger Lee's in Muscle Shoals) last night.

Definitely, if I need to provide firepower....

My Thursday night regular gig has a PA and monitors, and my Friday night gig is a restaurant. Depending on the crowd I either go acoustic or my little Schertler Pub with a small Mackie mixer as the Bose would be overkill.

Handy Festival? I've been playing it since the 80's.

Yep, I didn't know anything about it and next year may try to bring a band with some of the Memphis cats instead of doing a duo gig in a juke joint. At least we weren't behind chickenwire.....

Ike, do you know a bassist up there named Birdsong? The drummer I play with (Chad Anderson) speaks very highly of him.

John Birdsong? Yes, very good friend of mine. Awesome player who just retired from the state and is playing full time now. Studied with Rufus Reid, takes it very seriously.
