Cicognani

Does this name ring a bell in the DB community?

They exhibited at the recent Anaheim NAMM, but when I kept hearing people saying they were "sick of Yanni," I didn't realize they were talking about this spiffy line of bass and guitar gear:

Just wondering if you've heard their stuff, know of their reputation, know an owner.

Suppose a seller would offer the 800H and Indy 210 for about the same bread as, say, a Genz-Benz Shuttle 6 + a Bergantino AE 210.

Foreign vs. domestic?
Slightly heavy vs. light?
Headroom vs. compactness?

Never heard of it, know nobody who plays that. Might be speaking more towards bass guitarrists, as the amp from the link has a tube pre, and I don't think that's insanely popular over here.

Thanks, Mr. Sidecar.

Doesn't the Genz-Benz Shuttle use a tube preamp?

I asked the Cicognani cognoscenti about playing an Upright with a piezo pickup through the amp, and they suggested to roll off about 2 dB of Highs.

Tonight is the road test, but I'm hoping to hear from a veteran driver. Is Mario Andretti still alive?

Hey Richard,

Tried a shuttle the other night. Really dig it. I'll be interested in this on too. I am also "sick of Yanni." It's worth the purchase just so you can say that out loud on all your gigs.

Rodge,

Wrestled the Cicognani back into my car and back to the seller: beautiful as it looks, it's simply too big, a Hummer in my Honda Civic world.

The Genz-Benz Shuttle just might take home the cash today.

Then comes the next obsessive question: sell my AI Clarus, or keep it as a back-up?
