Clarus doubling idea

When I double, I usually play EUB and electric bass through an A/B pedal into my SWR amp.

I'm wondering about trying something different, where the EUB plugs into the Clarus' input jack and my electric bass (active preamp) goes into the effects return, thereby going letting me get by without the A/B switch. I would just need to turn down the volume of one bass when using the other.

Anybody tried this?

I've done so with my little Eden 260. My active bass is a project Jazz with an Audere preamp and it works great. Don't imagine the Clarus would be much different.
