could this be done?

I wonder if someone could come up with a preamp for DB like this?:

I think Fishman has one as well.

I remember reading a thread a long time ago about some guy who developed a computer program that would do this digital modeling of a DB. Does anyone remember this?

I would think the Fishman Aura could be used for DB as well....just need to get the Fishman people to make some "sound images" for DB that we can upload to the Aura.

Anyone heard any of it?

I talked with my Fishman rep at NAMM about that when the Aura was first introduced. He said they'd talked about it but didn't think it would happen. IMHO most URB players are seeking a straight-ahead sound. The other issue is the wide variances of pickup sounds as opposed to the more or less generic undersaddle "acoustic" guitar signals. I think that would mean creating a reliable digital model, which can depend on a relatively specific input character, impractical.

Indeed. All kinds of effects can be created via DSP to effect different transfer functions. I find a good parametric equalizer (as on the EA iamps) quite practical.

I spoke to a fishman dude at NAMM and he told me there playing with doing just this with URB but have not been happy with the results they have had so far so have not produced any.
