Difficulty of Full Circle Install?

I am about to buy my first pickup. I've narrowed it to Full Circle, Realist and Rev Solo. Thinking about all the reviews I've read, leaning mostly towards Full Circle but uneasy about installation. Actually was about to order a Rev Solo, as it looks idiot-proof.

So for the FC: If you loosen strings enough to swap the adjusters (I already have adjustable bridge), won't the sound post fall? Am I overthinking?

Also, is it likely that my adjustable bridge is the 1/4-20 that most often comes with the FC? How can you measure this?

Thanks for any advice,
Neal

It's really not that hard to fit the FC, BUT, if you're the least bit queezy about it, take it to a luthier experienced in such matters and let him/her fit it right. It shouldn't cost that much and you'll have the peace of mind in knowing if the soundpost does fall over, the person will be able to reset it. Just my .02.

Rev solo is not quite as idiot proof as you would think. This is one idiot it fooled. The RS really needs to fit a certain degree of snuggness in the bridge wing as well as have good contact. I ended up sanding off a little too much off of both the RS and the bridge so that when I use it, I need to stick a shim in to have it contact well.

My solution was to have a Full Circle installed by my luthier (Pete's Bass Shop, Portland) and I haven't looked back. The RS now sits in the bag as a back up.

So my lesson was to stay away from my bass with any kind of tools and leave this kind of stuff to the professionals.

To FC better to get luthier help, and the included and downloadable manual ( http://www.fishman.com/uploads/products/documents/7.pdf ) helps a lot. The installation could be a bit complicated, especially on non adjustable bridges, but it worth.

Same here. Instead of using shims I sent my first RS back to have it reconditioned after the fit became a little too loose. I think they basically put a new wood casing around the old pickup element.
