ea vl 108

There is one up for sale. What is the going price for a used one. Also would this cab be a good pick up with the state of current cabs on the market?

Thanks

I don't understand your question and I have a feeling that's why you're not getting much response...

re muddied message

There is a used vl 108 up for sale. The owner has no idea of what to ask for it. So my Q was simply. Anyone have an idea what the going price is for a used vl 108?

Try clicking the following:

Search ---> Advanced Search ---> Keyword, "vl108", and select "For Sale: Amps and Accessories (DB). Try it once with "Titles only" selected, and once with "search entire posts". You should find some info. For more, do the same in the BG classifieds.

The last couple of VL-108's I saw sold in the vicinity of $300. While the VL-108 is certainly a lovely little speaker cabinet, I think I'd spend the extra money and get an EA Wizzy 10, which, compared to the VL-108, has better performance overall including much higher sensitivity (very important) and is much lighter. Also the Wizzy 10 is a four ohm cab, so you'll have more headroom available with most amps.

I have two VL 108's and although they sound very natural to my ear, they are not exceptionally efficient, by today's standards and they weigh almost 30 lbs. You also have to be careful which version you have as the later ones featured speakon connectors with larger road handles, and the early ones did not. The Wizzy 10 is lighter and louder and has a sound that's very close to the VL 108. John Dong said once that that's what he was going after when he designed it.
