Gage Docking Station Hum

I just installed the Realist pickup / Docking station onto my bass over the weekend. I love the pickup, however once I add the docking station, there is this loud hum, like there is a need for a ground. (same sound as on an electric Jazz bass).

Can anyone offer any solutions to fix this?

Does the hum go away when you place your fingers on the strings?

Some of the initial shipments of the Docking Station have an internal ground problem. Contact whoever you bought it from; they should swap it out for you.

We had a fair number (about 20%) of the first shipment that had that problem, and we got them replaced. We now test all of our docking stations before shipping them out to customers.

Weird! We do test each one of them before shipping, but that one must have slipped through. We'll take care of it!
