I have the DPA 4099 and the Headway EDB-1. I haven't had any problems with the Headway's 18 volt Phantom, but if you look on the DPA site there is a chart indicating the noise floor raises when you use less than 48 volts.
The problem I had was trying to blend the DPA with a Full Circle or Realist. The gain on Channel 1 is so hot that you don't get enough usable volume from the Full Circle or Realist, while Channel 2 has to be cranked almost to it's max. to use the DPA.
David Gage makes an attenuated Planet Waves cable for the Realist, but I don't know if it will work with the Full Circle. I had to have the EDB-1 modified by Headway, to solve the problem. It works quite well, but to my knowledge, there isn't anyone stateside that can do that modification. The cost involved with shipping it back and forth is @$50.00 each way.
