Little Mark Tube

http://www.markbass.it/products.php?...cat=1&vedi=102

I was looking at the Little Mark II, When I came across this new version. It seems to have some extra features that would be helpful for DB; two inputs w/ separate gain, phantom power, and a mixable tube preamp.

Has anyone tried this amp? Will it be available soon?

Thanks for your help.

I have a Little Mark II, and great as it is for electric, it really doesn't do a lot for the DB. Maybe the tube thing would help, and the extra input sure is nice, but I am a bit skeptical about Mark Bass for the DB other than their stuff designed specifically for the upright, which seems to have some potential.

Scott,
You and I definitely have the same take on the Little Mark II. I think AH 250 Mark Acoustic is probably a very nice DB amp, if a little underpowered. I like the Little Mark II for Electric but I couldn't get my sound from my upright with the Realist. This dosen't mean that it won't work for some one else, but it didn't work for me. Then agian, there's EA's new amp that actually costs less and has a variable phase control, variable hi pass filter, and variable notch filter.

For the money, that EA doubler seems to be a safe bet all round.

Order one from the USA and ship to Europe
I had mine shipped to Japan and because the head and cabinet are so light shipping is very reasonable
Check out Bob Gollihur shop , he gives International shipping prices when you put items in the basket

The EA amps are all 100v-240v

Thanks

Reviving this thread, does anyone have experience with the Little Mark Tube which as the original poster says, has phantom power for a MIC. Is this a viable alternative to EA's Doubler? Having played Markbass (Little Mark II) I'm sure I can get an electric tone I like with those VL-filters. But, what of that MIC input?

Larry,
Didn't they just introduce this amp at the NAMM Show in January? If that's the case then I wouldn't expect that many players had one yet.
IHMO just slapping a tube into the front end of a amp isn't necessarily an improvement, depends on a lot of other things.
It's really only a single channel amp with multiple inputs. The LMT only has one set of EQ controls where the Doubler has two. I've found that the VLF and VPF filters don't sound all the great on Double Bass IME. But that's just my opinion however. I haven't gigged with one, I just borrowed one and tried it out for a while. Other DB players really like the Little Mark II.

Thanks Ric. I'm not even thinking about the tube. It's more the MIC input I'm interested in. Rarely are my gigs true doublers bring both slab & URB. Question is: will EA's doubler allow me to say, sell off my Ashdown ABM 500 for rock, loud blues gigs on slab. Little mark II proves yes. I just though maybe the Little Mark Tube might 'get me there'. Guess I just gotta try both (ie. use online warranty return policy) and see.

Larry,

Peter Palmieri uses the Doubler and has had his longer than anyone else on these threads. I'd give him a shout and see what he says.
