I was wondering if any MArk Bass owners have had to deal with warranty issues. Guitar Center stated that it is a 3rd party warranty which can be renewed for $?? after two years. My guess would be that no actual repairs would take place since they are made in Italy and do not have a factory service presence here in the states. It sounds more like an insurance policy. I'm sure that Jeff Berlin would have no problems getting a replacement amp if it crapped out, but what about Joe Player? Anyone out there with actual experience with this warranty?

You are correct it is more of a replacement warranty. If it breaks they just order you in a new one. I've heard of instances on here where the dumb kids that work at GC crack the amps open in the store and try to fix it themselves first. I won't even entertain that if I have an issue, I'll just tell them to order me a replacement.

In 10 years on the floor at GC, I have never seen a kid crack open an amp like that to try and fix it...maybe they will pop new tubes into an amp, but that's where it ends. Honestly, I wish they wouldn't even do that because they aren't biasing them and don't know what to do. Your MarkBass would go to a repair center selected by MB, if they can't fix it, than it would be replaced. You can buy it worry free.

New Markbass USA Warranty

Exciting Markbass News – New USA Warranty Policy

Effective February 1, 2008, Markbass and its dealers in the USA have instituted a new warranty arrangement which streamlines coverage in the unlikely event that the user experiences a defect in manufacturing materials or workmanship.

The new warranty will provide for either off-site repair or replacement at the point of purchase at the sole discretion of the retailer and Markbass to the original owner for the period of 2 years from the date of purchase.

What this means:
Markbass items will be exchanged at the store if there is a defect in manufacturing or materials for the period of 2 years from the time of purchase. This warranty is for the original retail purchaser of the product only. This warranty does not cover abuse or neglect. If there is a question concerning determining this, the product will be sent to a USA Markbass distribution center for evaluation.

No exchange will be given until a determination has been made as to whether the item is defective or damaged by the user or incorrect use.

Markbass products will still qualify for an extended warranty or service plan which will extend the coverage beyond the 2 year manufacturer warranty.
