I've gone through several "ideal" cabinets over the past few years but I may finally have one that's going to do just about everything I need it to. It's small enough to fit on the smallest stages, can move enough air for any of my non-PA supported gigs and BTW, sounds fantastic. It's the only cabinet I own that seems to capture the "like my bass but louder" sound from very quiet up to louder than I expect to need to push it.
Don at LDS was an absolute treat to work with. His input and experience really helped me come to understand what I was looking for. He even steered me away from a configuration that would have cost more but probably wouldn't have fit the bill as well as this one.
The 2x8, 5 + Tweeter is 500W and 4ohms and seems to love my Claurus.
First gig will be New Year's Eve with a traditional country band... can't wait.

Nice cabinet, it's a very different design than mine. Stacking the 2x8's vertically is evidently preferred when paring speakers for low frequency response. I also noticed that he has changed the shape and size of the port on your cabinet. This
new design has more in common with the configuration of the VL 208.

Ric | I wondered if there was a reason for it. I have a Eden 210XLT which has a side-by-side config but this cab, and my Genz Benz Shuttle 210 are vertical. Honestly, I prefer this because I don't have to lean over as far to get to my amp Quote:

44 lbs. and has neo's.

So I ended up not getting to play the LDS.
I did pull one of the 8" speakers out though to see what it is... Maybe an Eminence Delta?

At least the manufacturer could be identified that way. I once did this for my polytone speaker, but cannot remember how to do that. But there are some resources in the web to help. |
