It's probably the least, and most inexpensive way to, get a better sound out of a piezo pickup. I guess it would depend on how much money you have to spend on the piezo pickup, and the FDeck HPF/Buffer Pre Amp
Since your amp already has a 1 Meg Ohm
input impedance, and you'll have to invest in the pickup, you could do it in stages. Most newer pickups, like the K&K Bass Max
will sound just fine in to the 1 Meg Ohm
input impedance provided by the GK
. The only pickup that absolutely requires the 10 Meg Ohm
input impedance is the older Fishman BP-100
and by association, the K&K Double Big Twin
which is based on that design. I prefer the K&K Bass Max
because of this, and it's simpler less mounting into the bridge wing slot, which doesn't mute the bridge, by attaching to its surface.
